Be Fabbo Podcast Episode 63

Episode 63: How To Scale As A Solopreneur Lindsay J. Williams is full of ideas and information! Listen in as this passionate and enthusiastic guest (and Bobbi as the host!) bring a wealth of information about scaling when you’re solo!  These two dynamic entrepreneurs are two people who are excited about helping people grow and who want others to succeed even more than they have!

Join in for great tips on scaling if you are a solopreneur, on putting people first— and on leading your business with passion by keeping your clients first. Listen in as Lindsay and Bobbi discuss that it is about serving others and you’ll be so impressed to learn that she started her successful businesses with LESS than 2000 followers! Of course we all want to know more about that!

Lindsay is also the host of the Build That Business Podcast where she shares her tangible tips and strategies that she personally used to scale her business from 30K to over 300K— It’s good stuff!

Meet Lindsay!

You bet that she understands the exact feeling of wanting everything to come together for your wedding! Wanting the day to go off without a hitch and wanting your guest’s first impressions to be AMAZING. Lindsay has worked with over 1000 brides, each suite unique and special and knows a thing or two about this. She knows this industry inside and out and can help you stick with tradition or step outside the box.

Lindsay approaches her invitation design process the only way she knows how. A face-to-face appointment when logistically possible, custom design, unlimited revisions, and personal service. Simple as that.

She finds it to be such an honor to be a part of such profound moments in people’s lives. Lindsay gets to know couples like she would a new friend; she feel their joy and is truly excited to be involved in their planning process.

Lindsay’s goal is to empower Wedding Professionals to use their own voice and story to create connections. To build the confidence they need to recognize the unique value they bring, and to then share it with their customers. Through a mix of step-by-step strategies and simple content ideas, she considers herself her student’s biggest cheerleader and tough-love coach.

“It indeed possible to scale as a solopreneur, even with few followers! I have a multi 6 figure wedding business with less than 2000 followers on Instagram because I focus on creating connections with the followers I have right in front of me, rather than constantly trying to get more and more followers.”

More From The Candid Conversation

5:46   I started the stationery business seven years ago, in 2014. After being totally miserable in my corporate job, I’m sure a lot of our listeners can relate here. So I found myself I was working for busy an advertising agency as a creative director. And I liked the work. But the corporate nine to five was just not for me. So I decided that I was going to kind of make a go at setting up a business for myself.

9:05    100%, we cannot split up our efforts. Because then everything we do gets 10% here and 10% here and 10% here. I like to go all in on one or two things that are working, throw that fuel on the fire and go all in. So that’s really what one of the things that has helped me scale my business was recognizing what worked.

10:06    I would get in this habit of like every six months, taking a look at everything, and we’ll go into like specific things that I think we should, you know, dive in and take a look at, but every six months, I would pause, take a look at what I was doing. And I would tweak I would tweak my systems, tweak my processes, and then I would grow again.

17:48    I am all about getting help. I outsource a lot of stuff, I get help. But as far as hiring a team, it does not have to be the first thing out of the gate. There’s so many things you can do in your business, to automate, to simplify to scale to get back that time, so that you can scale your business, you absolutely can scale your businesses solopreneur I’m by myself here my little back bedroom by myself, I scaled the business, multi six figures, it totally possible.

23:20    Connecting with your clients is everything in your business, everything. I cannot stress this enough, that creating connections is absolutely the single most powerful way to attract, leads, attract and warm up those leads and book more weddings, creating connections is everything.

26:43    And you are so right, creating that connection, taking care of people serving people, that is your best advertising, that is your best source of referrals, taking care of people, —people over profit!

41:38    Everything else is either automated or outsourced, or I get help with so serving my clients like I’m the one doing the design. I’m the one doing the edits. I’m the one talking to them. Same thing with like a photographer or a florist. If I hire you to photograph my wedding, like please be there was somebody else right? So serving your clients, I think you got to be there. I think growing your business, you are the vision of your business. No one’s gonna take care of it like you do.

45:18    And that’s how you scale your business, you have to get crystal clear on how you’re running your business.

55:21    Because people aren’t telling other business owners that it’s lonely. It really is lonely. And we like our own cheerleaders. And we can be our own cheerleaders. But having somebody that has your back that truly wants you to succeed is so special. And I think it’s underrated. So like everybody that just is a listener of you, and has you. It’s so valuable just to hear those words. It’s just so encouraging.

1:10:12    Bobbi I’m so grateful for you. I’m grateful for the opportunity to be here for this show. for all you’ve done for the industry, I just can’t thank you enough. Thank you.
